Fishers-based Fuzic Inc. has received a $3 million round of funding. Investors in the music and messaging technology company include Indianapolis-based High Alpha, Allos Ventures in Carmel and Chicago-based Hyde Park Ventures. In an interview in March with Inside INdiana Business Television, co-founder Brent Oakley discussed his path from carwash owner to tech entrepreneur.
Since last year when the company was first established, Fuzic has secured a total of $3.5 million in funding. Fuzic offers custom radio messaging services and licensed music playlists for business owners to control music, messaging and advertising in their locations. It has a network of professional voice talent to produce audio imaging within hours it is requested through the Fuzic digital platform.
The company says it now has 300 location-based clients and has experienced a 50 percent increase in clients over the last six weeks. Its customers represent industries such as retail, restaurants, fitness centers, family fun parks, car washes and car dealerships.
High Alpha Partner Mike Fitzgerald says "we are very impressed with Fuzic’s growth and early customer adoption. This is a strong, accomplished team who is perfectly positioned to build Fuzic into the market leader in location-based marketing."
In March, Scott McCorkle, former chief executive officer of Salesforce Marketing Cloud and current executive in residence for High Alpha, joined Fuzic as executive chairman.
Oakley, who serves as chief executive officer founded Fuzic last year with Nathan Miller, says "we’ve seen great customer adoption, and we’re excited to further develop our software to service the on-site needs of location-based businesses. This funding round and the partnerships with High Alpha, Allos Ventures, and Hyde Park Venture Partners provide us with the support and resources to create a truly best-in-class marketing platform."
