Brandon Gorin, who won two Super Bowls with the New England Patriots, is area developer for Marcos Pizza in the Indianapolis market. During a presentation at FailFest today in Fishers, Gorin said the only secret to success he has found as an entrepreneur is "intentional work over time."
Gorin was born and raised in Muncie. He attended Purdue University before being drafted by the San Diego Chargers in 2001. He opened his first Marcos Pizza store in 2011. Since then, he says, while some of his stores have been successful and some have not, "all have taught me lessons." He is area developer for the Indy market, which includes 23 stores, with an additional four in development.
Gorin is one of more than 20 speakers set for FailFest today at Fishers High School. The event aims to celebrate the role of failure in innovation. Launch Fishers Chief Executive Officer John Wechsler says organizers hope to create a culture shift in the business community, where progress is not stifled by the fear of failure. Wechsler is hosting this year’s event, along with Verge founder Matt Hunckler and Incentus Global founder Val Crooke. Other speakers include ClusterTruck founder and ExactTarget co-founder Chris Baggott, prominent intellectual property attorney Jonathan Polak and The Jump Network founder Teresa Sabatine, who was recently named Indianapolis’ first film commissioner.
