Elanco Animal Health taps Hillenbrand exec as new CFO

Elanco Animal Health has zeroed in on a new chief financial officer to help lead the Greenfield-based company’s growth.
Elanco on Wednesday announced Robert VanHimbergen will take over as CFO starting in July. VanHimbergen is currently with Batesville-based manufacturing firm Hillenbrand and will continue there until the end of June.
In a press release, VanHimbergen said he wants to help Elanco grow.
“I am thrilled to join Elanco at this exciting time with the company’s momentum and diverse portfolio of innovation,” VanHimbergen said. “I look forward to working with the leadership team to execute on the company’s strategy, accelerate growth and enhance shareholder value.”
At Elanco, VanHimbergen will replace Todd Young, who will stay with the company as an advisor through the end of August to facilitate the transition.
VanHimbergen joined Hillenbrand in 2022. Prior to that, he spent 15 years at Johnson Controls in various roles as he worked his way through the company ranks.
At Elanco, VanHimbergen will be tasked with helping the company grow. Per the company’s release, Elanco has multiple projects “in launch mode” and wants accelerate its growth by “maximizing existing innovation…expanding margins and improving cash generation.”
Elanco manufactures products to treat diseases in farm animals and pets.
