Hillenbrand CFO to step down

The chief financial officer of Batesville-based Hillenbrand Inc. will step down from his role at the end of June, the manufacturer announced Thursday.
Bob VanHimbergen has served as senior vice president and CFO since April 2022. Prior to joining Hillenbrand, he spent 15 years at Johnson Controls in various roles, including vice president and corporate controller.
Hillenbrand said VanHimbergen has decided to take another position outside of the company, but did not specify what that new role will be.
“We appreciate Bob’s leadership over the past three years, including his contributions in transforming Hillenbrand into a pure-play industrial company,” Hillenbrand CEO Kim Ryan said in a news release. “As a result of our team’s collective efforts, Hillenbrand is well positioned to execute our strategy due to the competitive positioning of our industry-leading brands.”
VanHimbergen will officially depart the company on June 27. Hillenbrand has named Megan Walke, who currently serves as vice president, corporate controller and chief accounting officer, as interim CFO.
The company said it has engaged an executive search firm to conduct a search for VanHimbergen’s successor.
Hillenbrand’s stock was down 4% to $21.66 per share at 11 a.m. Thursday.
Hillenbrand is Indiana’s 19th-largest public company with $2.8 billion in revenue in 2023, according to IBJ research. The company employs more than 10,000 people across its entire footprint.
