Airline adds nonstop from Fort Wayne to Fort Lauderdale

The operator of Allegiant Air on Monday announced a new nonstop between Fort Wayne International Airport and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.
Allegiant Travel Co. said in a Monday news release that the flights begin Nov. 20.
The route was among seven new nonstop routes connecting 12 cities nationwide announced by the Las Vegas-based airline.
“This expansion reflects our commitment to connecting underserved communities with affordable, convenient travel options,” Drew Wells, Allegiant’s chief commercial officer, said in the news release.
The airline is offering one-way fares on the new routes as low as $49 for a limited time.
A one-way fare between Fort Wayne and Fort Lauderdale is available as low as $59, but seats and dates are limited. Flights must be purchased by Wednesday for travel by Feb. 10, 2026.
The other routes and destinations include the following:
- Between Sarasota/Bradenton, Florida, and Toledo, Ohio
- Between New Orleans and Punta Gorda, Florida.
- Between Nashville, Tennessee, and Gulf Shores, Alabama
- Between Fort Myers, Florida, and Allentown, Pennsylvania; Appleton, Wisconsin; and Des Moines, Iowa.
Fort Wayne International Airport last year experienced a record number of passengers, 856,803, Inside INdiana Business reported earlier this year. In May, officials said the airport was on track for a third consecutive year of a record number of passengers with an 18% year-over-year increase at the time.
Other airlines, including Delta and United, have added or extended flights out of the airport, as well.
