IUPUI Chancellor Nasser Paydar has announced he is retiring in March. He has been a faculty member at Indiana University for more than 30 years and as IUPUI Chancellor since 2015 and previously served as an assistant professor, vice chancellor at IUPUC and chancellor at IU East.

“Indiana University is grateful for Chancellor Paydar’s tireless service,” IU President Pamela Whitten said. “His career has been dedicated to providing strategic vision and planning that have ensured progress on every campus he has served. He has put student success at the forefront and focused on creating opportunities for underrepresented students to pursue higher education. The impacts of his leadership will be felt for years to come.”

Payday holds a bachelor’s degree, master’s degree and Ph.D. from Syracuse University.
