Hoosier Companies Named Top 50 for Food/Ag Innovation

The companies are included in the THRIVE TOP 50 AgTech and FoodTech lists from California-based SVG Ventures, in partnership with Forbes Live.
West Lafayette-based Solinftec was named a TOP 50 AgTech company. Solinftec provides an Internet-of-Things-based platform that gives farmers real-time data on their farms.
Inside INdiana Business was the first to report last November that Solinftec was moving its headquarters from South America to Purdue Research Park.
Indianapolis-based Epogee LLC has been selected as a Thrive TOP 50 Foodtech Company of the Year for its fat substitute product.
The company said its EPG reduces calories from fat by 92%, and total calories by as much as 45%, leaving taste and food texture.
Epogee said the fat replacement can be used in a variety of food and beverage products, including baked goods, frozen dairy products, and frying applications.

SVG Ventures said its TOP 50 companies are scouted for their exemplary leadership teams, innovative technologies, investment, and traction. The company said to qualify for a spot on the list the nominee must have received a minimum of series A funding and have a product in the market that is scaling production.
“This is just the beginning of an exciting new revolution, as we help food and beverage manufacturers keep the flavor, but lose the calories,” said Burrows.
Top 50 companies in this year’s report are categorized in the following technology categories: Biotechnology, Controlled Environment Ag, Data Analytics & AI, IoT Software & Hardware, Robotics & Automation, Foodtech, and Packaging Tech.
