ANDERSON - Nestlé USA is continuing to grow its Anderson operations. Our partners at The Herald Bulletin report the company plans to invest more than $200 million to purchase and install new equipment in the facility, and create 30 jobs.

The company will next week ask the Anderson City Council to approve a preliminary declaratory resolution for a seven-year, 70% tax abatement for the project, according to the publication. Final approval could come at the council's January 9 meeting.

The Anderson facility employs some 800 workers. The new jobs will come with an average hourly wage of just over $36 and an annual payroll of $2.25 million.

Anderson Economic Development Department Executive Director Greg Winkler tells The Herald Bulletin Nestlé has invested about $1 billion in its facilities since locating in the Madison County city in the mid-2000s.

The announcement comes nearly two years after Nestlé detailed plans to invest $80 million in Anderson and add 30 jobs.
