FORT WAYNE - The Fort Wayne Community Schools board has approved the sale of the former Elmhurst High School property. The Journal Gazette reports the site will be sold for $600,000 to Hanson Aggregates Midwest LLC, a quarrying company.

The site went up for sale in February and it received two offers. It has been vacant since Elmhurst was closed in 2010 following district consolidation. The publication reports the acquisition also includes 12 acres of farmland.
