Mark Bates has been elected vice-chairman of the Indiana Farmers Mutual Insurance Co. board of directors. He will continue his role as chairman for the company’s Governance Committee. Bates, a 28-year insurance veteran, is president of Pinnacle Insurance Group of Indiana in Crown Point. He is actively involved in the community where he has served as president for many not-for-profit organizations. Bates currently is capital campaign chairman for the Southlake YMCA $35 Million expansion project. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from Ball State University.
