The Westfield Advisory Plan Commission has approved plans from NewPro Containers to invest $4 million for a new facility near the Westfield Business Park.
The city says NewPro will retain 14 jobs and add two more as a result of the relocation. According to documents filed with the city, the company expects construction to begin next month and be complete by late January.
"NewPro Containers decided that Westfield would be the perfect place to relocate their business," said Westfield Mayor Andy Cook. "The community’s commercial tax base has been steadily growing and the addition of NewPro Containers will only encourage more businesses to build in Westfield."
The city has approved a 10-year real property tax abatement for NewPro’s new facility. The company is a manufacturer, importer, and wholesale distributor of indoor and outdoor plant containers and supplies.
