WorkOne will Thursday host a job fair in New Albany. Nearly 70 employers from throughout southern Indiana will be on hand in an effort to fill more than 1,500 open positions.

The job fair will take place from 2:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the WorkOne Office located 2125 State Street. It is free and open to the public, including the several hundred workers recently laid off from the closure of Jeffersonville-based Jeffboat LLC’s facility.

The employers attending the job fair come from a variety of industries, including industrial, manufacturing, transportation and medical. Some of the companies participating in the job fair include Clark Memorial Hospital, Brown-Forman, Morgan Foods, Koetter Construction, BWX Technologies, Dermatology Associates PSC, and Alro Steel.

Job seekers planning on attending the job fair are encouraged to dress professionally and bring multiple copies of their resume. WorkOne says it will also have information on scholarships and training opportunities as well.
