WorkOne Southern Indiana is asking area manufacturers to fill out a survey in hopes of addressing a “rapidly widening” technical skills gap. The organization is working with Ivy Tech Corporate College on the effort.

News Release

New Albany, Ind. — The Strategic Doing Committee, WorkOne Southern Indiana, and Ivy Tech Corporate College are asking representatives of the manufacturing community to complete a Technical Skill Gap Survey to gain information on the manufacturing technical skills and training needs for our Kentuckiana workforce area.

The survey will be available beginning March 6 through March 25 at https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/ManufacturingSkillsSurveyMarch2015.

The technical skills gap is rapidly widening, and we want to help manufacturers recruit, train, and employ good people. But first, officials need to find out what manufacturing employers require to fill those skilled positions. The survey takes less than 5 minutes to complete.

This survey is based on Work-Group Activity, emerging from the Manufacturing Sector 'Strategic Doing' Session, conducted with manufacturers, education, economic development, and workforce at Ivy Tech Community College. The session was facilitated by Purdue Center for Regional Development https://www.pcrd.purdue.edu
