The largest work truck event in North America kicks off this week in downtown Indianapolis. More than 11,000 visitors are expected for the annual Work Truck Show, which runs Tuesday through Friday at the Indiana Convention Center. The event, produced by Michigan-based NTEA – The Association for the Work Truck Industry, will include the introduction of six new trucks and 100 new products from various companies.

This will be the fifth consecutive year the Work Truck Show has been held in Indianapolis. Managing Director Doyle Sumrall says this year’s event  tells Inside INdiana Business the city has been a "fabulous" place to host the event for a number of reasons.

"A lot of our members are in and around this area. There’s a lot of commerce within the driving circle, you know, Chicago and Ohio and those folks all come in here," said Sumrall. "The city is awesome. We really enjoy being here. Even if the weather gets a little bad, there’s tubes to walk in, so just a tremendous number of positive things about this center."

Sumrall says the NTEA plans to keep the Work Truck Show in Indianapolis as long as possible.

The event begins Tuesday with its educational components, the Fleet Technical Congress and the Green Truck Summit. The exhibition hall will open Wednesday. You can learn more about the Work Truck Show by clicking here.
