Marion County’s workforce development board has received more than $1 million from Lilly Endowment Inc. EmployIndy says the funding will support its Youth Employment Services program, which aims to help young adults find work.
The grant marks the 13th consecutive year Lilly Endowment has funded the program. YES looks to remove barriers to employment for young adults by providing help in areas including childcare, transportation and work clothing. EmployIndy partners with nine community organizations to provide the services.
The Lilly Endowment has awarded $15 million in grants to fund YES since 2003. EmployIndy also oversees programs including YouthBuild Indy and the Marion County Jobs for America’s Graduates program.
