Evansville Mayor Lloyd Winnecke has submitted a more than $115 million budget proposal to the Common Council. It calls for funding to build a multi-million park where Roberts Stadium once stood and improvements to the 8,500-seat amphitheater at Mesker Park Zoo. The Roberts Park project could cost more than $8 million.

A 2012 report estimated at least $9.7 million would have to be pumped into the rehabilitation of Mesker Park Amphitheater.
