White River Master Plan to Kick Off

Officials from throughout Central Indiana will Thursday kick off the White River Master Plan. Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett’s office says the plan aims to develop a comprehensive and coordinated regional vision to enhance and activate nearly 60 miles of the White River.
The city has selected Massachusetts-based consulting team Agency Landscape + Planning to lead a team of partners to develop the plan. Hogsett’s office says the master plan will weave neighborhoods, institutions and destinations in central Indiana together and align the White River as a "defining element of Indianapolis.
The city says the plan will enhance quality of life, drive further investment and improve visitor experiences for decades to come, making it a cultural and recreational asset for central Indiana.
