Grand Junction Plaza, which is being designed by a team led by Pennsylvania-based Land Collective, will feature an amphitheater and performance venue, multiple pavilions, skating rink and connect to trails. Mayor Andy Cook says the project is the culmination of more than 8 years of planning and collaboration.
The work also includes remediation to a regional storm water mitigation system.
Land Collective has worked on projects such as Eskenazi Hospital in Indianapolis, Washington D.C.’s Canal Park and work at several universities, state parks and historic landscapes. Officials say Grand Junction Plaza will be "a transformative movement" and a "catalyst" for the Hamilton County city.
The unveiling is set for 7 p.m. Thursday at Westfield City Hall.
