West Lafayette real estate company partners with Chicago firm

By Alex Brown

The Russell Co., a real estate brokerage firm headquartered in West Lafayette, has reached a franchise partnership with a Chicago-based firm. The second-generation firm has joined @properties, which also has offices in central and northwest Indiana.

Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.

As a result of the partnership, The Russell Co. will now operate with the @properties brand under the continued leadership of Stacy Grove and Brian Russell, daughter and son of founder Cathy Russell.

“@properties is giving us the best technology and development resources in the industry while allowing us to keep the community culture, independent spirit, and local ownership that has characterized our company thus far,” Grove said in a news release. “In fact, @properties has a company and a culture much like our own, but they are a life stage ahead.”

Grove said @properties’ technology platform, known as “pl@tform,” is catered specifically to the needs of real estate agents. She adds the company has a coaching and training program with a full curriculum of career-development resources and a referral network that will enhance what agents can do for their business and clients.

The combination, @properties said, brings together more than 180 realtors that are projected to sell over $700 million of real estate in 2023.

The deal with The Russell Co. follows similar partnerships with Rise Real Estate in Brownsburg and Indiana Home Realty of Plainfield. @properties has six offices in central Indiana, as well as offices in Crown Point, Highland, Long Beach, Michigan City, and Valparaiso.

Editor’s Note: A previous version of this story incorrectly stated that @properties had assumed ownership of The Russell Co.
