Wells County Company Expanding

Rethcief's current facility is just over 20

A packaging company in Wells County plans to expand operations. Ossian-based Rethceif Packaging says it will invest $850,000 to nearly double the size of its current building in the Ossian Industrial Park and add a small number of jobs.

When complete, Rethceif’s facility will reach near 40,000 square feet. The company, which was founded in 2005, designs and manufactures process and packaging equipment. Rethceif employs 23 workers and plans to add seven jobs with the expansion.

Chief Executive Officer Tim Fiechter says the expansion is necessary for the company’s growth. He says the "addition of fabrication equipment will reduce our manufacturing time and improve quality control. The support of the town of Ossian helps justify staying in Ossian versus a move to Fort Wayne, provides a nice industrial park for us to be a part of, and keeps us in a community that our employees enjoy."

The town of Ossian has approved a 10-year tax abatement for the company.
