The organization has also announced its international headquarters will relocate to Indianapolis.
The scientific and education professional nonprofit association monitors safety and performance improvement in the motorsports industry. Weisenbach has spent over 23 years in the industry, including Indianapolis Motor Speedway, the National Hot Rod Association and IndyCar.
He was named the first Executive Director of the Indiana Motorsports Association in 2006 and launched the Motorsports Safety Education Foundations in 2013.
Former ICMS Chairman Arnie Kuhns, President and CEO of SFI Foundation, Inc., believes Weisenbach brings the motorsports experience needed to help ICMS expand in the future.
“I am very pleased with Tom taking over the Executive Director position at ICMS,” said Kuhns. “As a past Chairman, I know how critical that job is to the organization. I am confident he will be able to help ICMS grow to the level it deserves to be. ICMS is an important aspect to the motorsports industry.”
Weisenebach succeeds Don Andrews who has announced his retirement.
