Indianapolis-based WebStream Sports has been acquired by Raycom Media in Alabama. WebStream says it will maintain its Indy headquarters and founder John Servizzi will continue to serve as chief executive officer.
Servizzi says the acquisition will allow WebStream to provide "unprecedented service" to its partners. Raycom Senior Vice President Pat LaPlatney calls the deal a "great fit," saying WebStream shares its commitment to growth.
WebStream was founded in 2006 and produces more than 1,000 live events each year for television, online and live audiences. The company’s productions has been seen on networks including ESPNU, Fox Sports and NCAA.com. The company also has offices in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Raycom says it owns and/or provides services for more than 50 television stations in 18 states. It employs nearly 4,000.
