Walmart Inc. (NYSE: WMT) will Tuesday and Wednesday host a job fair at the Indiana State Fairgrounds. The retailer is looking to fill more than 500 positions at its eCommerce Fulfillment Center in Plainfield.
The job fair will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Grand Hall at the fairgrounds. Walmart says it hopes to hire approximately 500 associates and more than 20 managers for the facility, with starting pay ranging from $14.25 to $15.95 per hour.
The new hires will handle shipping and logistics for Walmart.com and the company’s various online brands, including Jet.com and Sam’s Club.
"We are excited to grow our team in Indiana and serve our Walmart.com customers," said Jason Speedy, senior director of fulfillment for Walmart eCommerce. "Indiana is called the Crossroads of America for a reason: our Plainfield facility is perfectly situated to deliver products anywhere in the country in two days or fewer by truck."
Walmart says job seekers can also apply for the positions online.
