Wingler Receives James Pauley Lifetime Service Award

Subscribe NowWade Wingler has received the James Pauley Lifetime Service Award at the Mayor’s Advisory Council on Disability 2017 Access and Inclusion Awards. He is vice president of Easterseals Crossroads, an Indianapolis-based community resource working in partnership with children and adults with disabilities or special needs and their families to promote growth, independence and dignity. Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett presented the award to Wingler at a ceremony at the Indianapolis Artsgarden. The awards promote the inclusion and empowerment of people with disabilities within the Indianapolis community.
Wingler began working as an assistive technology instructor at Easterseals Crossroads in 1993. In addition to autism services, adaptive driving, home modification and the organization’s information technology services, he oversees assistive technology services and the INDATA Project, a federally funded, statewide assistive technology program for the agency. The INDATA Project at Easterseals Crossroads provides information and access to assistive technology, at no charge, for Hoosiers with disabilities.
Wingler did his undergraduate work at Butler University and holds an MBA from Indiana State University. He is also an adjunct professor of assistive technology at Vincennes University, Purdue University and IUPUI, and has served as a past chair of the MACD in Indianapolis. He is also past-president of the Indiana Rehabilitation Association, a current board member of the national Association of Assistive Technology Act Programs, a current advisory board member of the Human-Computer Interaction Department at the School of Informatics at IUPUI, and a current advisory board member of the Indiana AgrAbility/Breaking New Ground.
