Wabash National Names President of ‘Final Mile’ Unit

Lafayette-based Wabash National Corp. (NYSE: WNC) has announced the group president of its new Final Mile Products unit. Mike Petit, who has served as Vice President of Finance and Investor Relations since 2012, will take on the role January 1. The reporting segment is borne out of this year’s acquisition of Goshen-based Supreme Industries Inc., a deal with a $364 million equity value.
Supreme Industries Chief Executive Officer and President Mark Weber says he will step down at year’s end to pursue other opportunities. He has served as head of the company since 2013.
Final Mile Products includes Supreme, Wabash National truck bodies and other assets used to produce equipment for ecommerce and home delivery markets. Petit has led the integration of Supreme since August. Before coming to Wabash National five years ago, he served in various finance roles with Ford Motor Co.
During an August conference call with investors, CEO Dick Giromini called the Supreme acquisition a "perfect marriage," designed to capitalize on consumer trends toward more at home delivery.
Petit’s appointment coincides with a series of other major leadership announcements at Wabash National, including the upcoming retirement of Giromini, the appointment of Brent Yeagy as Giromini’s successor and the addition of Momentive Performance Materials Inc. CEO Jack Boss to the company’s board of directors.
