Lafayette-based freight-trailer manufacturer Wabash this week announced a pair of key leadership changes as the company continues to cope with declining sales.
Donald Winston has been named senior vice president and chief operating officer. He joined Wabash in January 2024 as vice president, global operations, and was promoted to senior vice president later that year. Prior to Wabash, he held senior roles at packaging manufacturers Novolex and Ardagh Group, as well as Ford Motor Co.
He replaces Dustin Smith, who stepped down as senior vice president and chief operating officer in August, Inside INdiana Business reported.
Drew Schwartzhoff has been named senior vice president and chief commercial officer. He joined Wabash in 2023 after holding senior marketing roles at C.H. Robinson, a global logistics provider.
He replaces Kevin Page, who served as senior vice president and chief commercial officer at Wabash for eight years.
“Drew and Donald are exceptional leaders who bring a powerful combination of strategic vision and operational expertise to Wabash,” CEO Brent Yeagy said in a news release. “Drew’s customer-first approach and proven ability to align strategy with execution, paired with Donald’s dedication to operational excellence and continuous improvement, position us to deliver even greater value to our customers and partners as we pursue our growth strategy.”
Wabash manufactures freight trailers and truck bodies, provides fleet management services and makes processing equipment such as steel tanks and silos.
In October, the company reported a nearly 27% decrease in net sales for the third quarter compared with the same period a year ago and reduced its full-year revenue outlook.
Its stock was trading Thursday morning at $15.62 per share, near its 52-week low of $15.35.
The company’s fourth-quarter earnings call is scheduled for Jan. 29.
