The city of Wabash and Grow Wabash County will hold a dedication event in recognition of the business park being deemed Indiana Site Certified Prime by the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs.
The Indiana Site Certified program certifies that sites are ready for economic development, according to OCRA. The "prime" designation is the highest offered by the program and means a site must meet certain criteria:
- Must have 30 contiguous acres,
- The location must be no more than 2.5 miles from a state highway,
- An archaeological investigation must be conducted. I
- LUG, LEDO or REDO must own the property or an option must be held with the owner.
Grow Wabash County says the Wabash Business Complex has shovel-ready lots with access to utilities, including a new 750,000-gallon water tower and state-of-the-art fiber optics. Lieutenant Governor Suzanne Crouch will be on hand for the dedication ceremony, which is set to begin at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.
In August, OCRA designated a site in Huntington County as Site Certified Prime. You can learn more about the Indiana Site Certified Program by clicking here.
