A public vote is set to begin next week to help decide the Signature Food for this year's Indiana State Fair. The dish will reflect the fair's “Year of the Coliseum” theme. June 16, 2014

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Indiana State Fair will conduct its Signature Food contest on Wednesday, June 18. The event is not open to the public. A panel of dignitaries will try the five different entries in the contest themed “Reconstructed/Deconstructed” in honor of the State Fair's “Year of the Coliseum” celebration. Event details are as follows:

WHO: Indiana State Fair Queen Alyssa Garnett, IUPUI Head Basketball Coach Jason Gardner, EatDrinkIndy.com Founder & Editor Jolene Ketzenberger and radio personalities from WFMS, WJJK and WRWM

WHAT: Indiana State Fair Signature Food Contest – NOT OPEN TO THE PUBLIC

WHEN: Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at 11 a.m.

WHY: To help commemorate the “Year of the Coliseum”

Comments on the different foods from the tasting panelists will be recorded and posted online along with photos of the foods, and the public will be allowed to vote on which food they would like to be this year's Signature Food. Voting will begin on June 23 and continue through July 6.
