Vote on Noblesville Fieldhouse Delayed

Subscribe NowA vote on the proposed Noblesville Fieldhouse and plans for the city’s sixth public park has been postponed. The Noblesville Common Council will now consider resolutions to build the $15 million fieldhouse on December 20.
Plans for Noblesville Fieldhouse at Finch Creek Park were announced on Tuesday. Klipsch-Card Athletic Facilities LLC, which owns and operates the Jonathan Byrd’s Fieldhouse at Grand Park in Westfield, are seeking to build the facility, which will include five hardwood courts, 75,000 square feet of turf field and 10,000 square feet of physical therapy space.
The council was originally slated to vote on the resolutions on December 6. If approved, the resolutions will allow the city to partner with Klipsch-Card to build the facility and begin phase one of the 203-acre Finch Creek Park.
"We’re excited to bring the resolutions to Council, but this postponement gives us extra time to work out the final details of the agreement between the two parties. Council also was in favor of the wait to ensure all nine members would be in attendance since this is a major decision for the City of Noblesville,” said Robert Herrington, public affairs manager for the city of Noblesville. "Seeing the level of excitement from the community after our announcement, we look forward to working through this process to bring the Noblesville Fieldhouse to Finch Creek Park and meet the needs of our local youth sports."
Construction on the 130,000 square-foot fieldhouse is expected to begin in late spring 2017. Developers expect the facility to create 40 full-time and 350 part-time jobs.
