Volunteers of America of Indiana Selects CEO

The board of directors for Volunteers of America of Indiana Inc. has chosen a new leader for the nonprofit organization. John von Arx III will begin his new role as president and chief executive officer February 22.
von Arx is a former Marion County Auditor and previously served under former Governor Mitch Daniels as public safety policy director. Recently, he has served as a visiting instructor at IUPUI, teaching public management and policy for the School of Public and Environmental Affairs.
“John has the experience we need for leading and setting the direction for a multi-faceted organization,” said Lisa Waite, VOA Indiana’s board chair. "As the needs of veterans and those transitioning out of corrections has increased, we’ve experienced significant growth. John’s appointment will bring increased visibility to our organization, its mission and our transformative services. The board of directors couldn’t be more pleased."
The Indianapolis-based organization says it provides rehabilitation, job placement and residential services throughout the state for individuals transitioning from the correctional system, veterans, the elderly and others.
"Volunteers of America of Indiana has a long standing tradition of serving our customers and clients throughout the state with passion and distinction," said von Arx. "It is truly an honor to join this VOA team of professionals who are so dedicated to helping those in need rebuild their lives and reach their full potential."
