VisionTech Angels Adds 5th Indiana Chapter

Indianapolis-based VisionTech Angels has added Fort Wayne as its fifth chapter in Indiana. The organization has also named Dr. Eric Beier, chief executive officer of Matrix-Bio, as president of the Fort Wayne chapter.
VisionTech Angels is the angel investing arm of VisionTech Partners, which brings together investors, entrepreneurs, inventors and other partners to develop, fund and launch new technologies. The organization already has chapters in Bloomington, Indianapolis, Lafayette and Warsaw.
“VisionTech is fortunate to have Eric lead our Fort Wayne chapter," said Don Scifries, managing partner of VisionTech Partners. "His experience as a physician, entrepreneur, businessperson, and investor is invaluable to VisionTech Angels’ members and to start-up companies seeking capital and insight in what it takes to successfully launch and exit a company. Eric has an incredible knowledge base and professional network that will be an asset to VisionTech Angels and to the Northern Indiana innovation community."
VisionTech Angels currently has over 80 members statewide. Beier says he is pleased to join the organization and hopes to build on what has already been achieved.
"Northern Indiana has a vibrant innovation and start-up community, and VisionTech Angels is a welcome addition," said Beier. "My goals as president for 2016 are two-fold: to recruit 20 members – we’re currently at nine – and to create a solid source of capital and mentorship for entrepreneurs and start-up companies in Northern Indiana."
The Fort Wayne chapter will have its first meeting on Tuesday, January 19 at the Northern Indiana Innovation Center.
