The university says the deal will create opportunities for collaboration in teaching, research, and faculty and student exchange.
VU President Chuck Johnson signed the agreement along with representatives from Yancheng, who traveled to Vincennes as part of a four-day cooperation conference, which wraps up today. Johnson says the goal of the conference was to explore opportunities for deep collaboration between institutions in each country.
"Last fall I had the pleasure of meeting with the leadership and faculty of Yancheng Polytechnic College and tour their beautiful campus," said Johnson. "This agreement represents the shared mission of our two institutions and the mutual respect we have for each other. It also builds on VU’s existing partnerships and relationships in Yancheng and elsewhere in Jiangsu Province."
VU says both schools will work together to develop programs and joint educational, cultural, and research activities such as transfer articulation agreements, as well as an exchange of teaching staff and students for research, lectures, and summer teaching programs, among others.
