Veteran IEDC Board Members Out

Three longtime members of the Indiana Economic Development Corp. Board of Directors are being replaced. Our partners at WTHR-TV report John Mutz and James Marcuccilli have already been let go and Robert Koch will relinquish his seat at next week’s IEDC board meeting.
The three were appointed to the board in 2005 by then-Governor Mitch Daniels and are the longest-serving members. Mutz is a former two-term lieutenant governor. Koch is the chief executive officer of Evansville-based Koch Enterprises and Marcuccilli is the CEO of STAR Financial Bank in Fort Wayne.
"I was basically told, ‘Don’t bother coming to [next Tuesday’s] board meeting’," Mutz told WTHR. "I think I’ve contributed a lot to the board and have been there since the very beginning, but anytime you can bring in new blood, that’s not necessarily a bad thing."
The station says it is unclear whether the decision came from Governor Eric Holcomb, who services as chair of the IEDC or Elaine Bedel, who was recently named IEDC president. Holcomb will make the appointments to fill the open seats.
