A group of four entrepreneurs and active angel investors have partnered to create a new Indianapolis-based seed fund for emerging tech startups. The founders of Round One Capital say it will specifically focus on firms that have received formation funding, but are not quite ready for venture or private equity funding.

Partners include Jay Love, former co-founder and chief executive officer of eTapestry and Bloomerang; Gary Rush, former chief technology officer of ExactTarget and Angie’s List; Todd Katz, former CEO of Bell-Horn; Scott Brenton, former chief operating officer of Angie’s List, and president & chairman of the Orr Fellowship.

“All of us are excited to share our knowledge gained from the wide variety of businesses we have had the privilege of leading,” said Jay Love. “Such practical expertise should be invaluable to the predominantly younger leaders found in most startup companies.”

The partners say they expect to make 30 or more investments over the next few years.
