Vectren Subsidiary Lands Military Contract

Subscribe NowThe U.S. Department of Defense has awarded a nearly $190 million contract to Newburgh-based Energy Systems Group LLC. The company will provide energy improvements at Naval Base Coronado in San Diego, California.
ESG will provide the design and installation of energy conservation measures, including steam decentralization and compressed air decentralization. The company will also provide services such as measurement and verification, operations and maintenance and repair and replacement.
Work is expected to be complete by October 2041. The Naval Facilities Engineering and Expeditionary Warfare Center in California is the contracting activity.
ESG is a subsidiary of Evansville-based Vectren Corp. (NYSE: VVC). Earlier this year, the company began construction on a combined heat and power plant at the Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center in Houston as part of a contract from NASA.
