Valpo Lands $3M Gift

The donation from Kathleen and Robert Hansen will establish a scholarship fund to provide aid for students taking part in one of the school’s 45 study abroad programs.
The Hansens are 1982 graduates of Valparaiso University. Bob Hansen is chair of the Valparaiso University Board of Directors Advancement Committee.
The school has offered international study programs since 1968. It says about 35 percent of undergraduate students participate. It offers 45 programs in 26 countries. Valpo has study centers in England, Germany, China and Costa Rica.
Kathy Hansen earned her bachelor of science in social work. Bob Hansen earned his degree in business administration.
