The $77,000 grant will fund a new roof on the Pantheon Theatre, which is being transformed into a business incubator.
The building, which will be known as the Pantheon Business Theatre, will be used to help startup businesses grow. The USDA grants target activities that help develop or expand small and emerging private businesses.
"The funding represents the ongoing efforts to create economic and job opportunities in rural areas by ensuring that strategic investments are made in our small towns and cities," said Robert Hill, director of USDA Rural Development Business Programs. "Rural businesses drive community revitalization by providing products and services to local residents as well as throughout the country and world. Projects like this spur important economic development and strengthen communities across Indiana."
Vincennes will hold a ceremony celebrating the grant Monday morning at City Hall.
