The University of Notre Dame has appointed Rev. Gerard Olinger vice president for mission engagement and church affairs. He succeeds Rev. William Lies, who has been elected provincial superior of the Congregation of Holy Cross, United States Province of Priests and Brothers. Father Olinger currently is vice president for university relations at the University of Portland. He responsible for the Offices of Alumni and Parent Relations, Development, Marketing and Communications and University Events.
