The University of Notre Dame board of trustees has elected John McGreevy as the Charles and Jill Fischer Provost of the University, effective in July. He is a historian and former dean of the College of Arts and Letters at Notre Dame. McGreevy holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Notre Dame and a master’s degree and doctoral degree from Stanford University.
