United Way of Central Indiana has named Greg Fennig chief marketing, communications and community relations officer. He is no stranger to community impact, as he brings more than 25 years of experience in both the nonprofit and for-profit sectors.

Fennig most recently served as vice president of public affairs for Indianapolis Power & Light Co. and prior to that, president and chief executive officer of Keep Indianapolis Beautiful. In addition, he has been in leadership roles on numerous boards and committees around Central Indiana. His passion for people and the community make him a perfect addition to UWCI. Fennig holds a degree from Taylor University.

He succeeds Chris Herndon, who, after nearly seven years with United Way, most recently as chief marketing officer, has decided to pursue other opportunities.
