TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Union Hospital, Inc. today announced the resignation of Scott L. Teffeteller, its President and Chief Executive Officer since December 2010. Teffeteller advised the hospital's Board of Directors that he wishes to pursue other professional opportunities in health care administration.
Teffeteller, who has been part of Union's executive team since March 2006, will step down. “I have enjoyed working with Union Hospital's voluntary board leaders, outstanding medical and professional staff, and hundreds of dedicated employees and volunteers who work for our patients each day,” said Teffeteller. “The primary objective of that team has been to provide quality care to our patients, and I know that work will continue.”
Under Teffeteller's leadership, Union Hospital, Inc. has received several regional and national awards and recognition from the following areas: Quality, Environmentally Friendly Business of the Year, Best Places to Work in Indiana for 5 consecutive years, Hospital of Choice for multiple years, and was recently awarded at the Platinum Level for The Performance of Excellence Award.
John S. Lukens, Chair of Union Board, stated, “We wish Scott well in his future pursuits and our Board is grateful for his many years of work as part of the Union's executive team and the outstanding leadership he provided the organization.” Lukens said the Board would immediately start a national search for a successor.
