Terre Haute-based Union Health says it is in “preliminary conversations” with Terre Haute Regional Hospital, though details of the talks are unclear. In a letter to employees, obtained by our partners at WTHI-TV, the health system says the conversations about a “unique and historic opportunity.”
WTHI reports there are unconfirmed rumors of a possible acquisition of Terre Haute Regional Hospital by Union Health. However, the letter makes no mention of an acquisition.
In the letter, Union Health Chief Executive Officer Steven Holman says the aforementioned opportunity “full aligns with our vision to lead the Wabash Valley to its best health and wellness. There is a role for everyone in this journey and employees should feel confident with respect to job security.”
A similar letter was sent to employees at Terre Haute Regional Hospital, according to WTHI.
There has been no comment about the situation from representatives of both sides.
