A tentative, five-year agreement has been reached between unionized steel workers and Alcoa Inc. (NYSE: AA). WLFI-TV in West Lafayette reports more than 600 United Steelworkers Union Local 115 members that work in Lafayette still need to ratify the deal. President Jerry Misner expects a ratifying vote by the members in the coming weeks.

He calls the deal a very good one, adding it includes many provisions union members had been seeking.

Misner says the proposal includes the same health care details as the previous contract and premiums will not be increased.

He also tells WLFI the deal includes increases in wages and a signing bonus.
