The state is scheduled to issue the monthly employment report Tuesday morning. The Indiana Department of Workforce Development says the unemployment rate is currently 7.3 percent. In November, more than 25,000 private sector jobs were added in Indiana. Among neighboring states, the unemployment rate in Illinois is 8.6 percent.

It's 7.2 percent in Ohio and 8.4 percent in Michigan. In November, the most recent figures available for Kentucky, the unemployment rate is 8.2 percent.

The national unemployment rate is 6.7 percent.
