UE Names New University Librarian

The University of Evansville has selected Robb Waltner to serve university librarian. Waltner, who has previously served as UE’s periodicals librarian, will begin in his new role June 1.

Waltner will lead the university’s newly-renovated library and it’s staff of five professional librarians and seven paraprofessionals. Waltner comes to UE from the University of North Florida, where he served as head of acquisitions and collection development at the university’s Thomas G. Carpenter Library.

"We are very happy that Robb has accepted the position of university librarian," said UE President Thomas Kazee. "Robb has an impressive and extensive record of experience in academic libraries, and will foster a culture of innovation and collaborative interaction with faculty, staff, and students."

Waltner served as periodicals librarian for UE for four years after earning his Masters of Arts degree in library, media and information services from the University of South Florida.
