UE Launching Pre-Ministry Program

Classes will begin this fall for the University of Evansville’s new pre-ministry program. The university says the program will include courses in religion, philosophy and English or world literature.
Students enrolled in the program will be able to major in a number of different areas, including archaeology, anthropology, economics, foreign language, history, music, religion and sociology, among others. The program will also give students practical experience in ministry, including internships with local churches.
"Students in the program will receive an excellent liberal arts education with a wide range of fields of study," said James Ware, pre-ministry advisor and professor of philosophy and religion at UE. "They will work closely with their pre-ministry advisor to plan a course of study that meets their goals and interests. Because of this flexibility, it is a great choice not only for those planning a career in ministry but also for students considering other career paths as well."
Ware said many of UE’s graduates receive advanced standing in seminary and theological schools.
