An E! Network star and breast cancer survivor will speak at the Foundation of Saint Joseph Health System’s fifth annual President’s Brunch in South Bend. Proceeds from next month’s event will support the purchase of a Mobile Medical Unit to serve uninsured and underinsured women.
Giuliana Rancic will headline the brunch on Sunday, April 24. She is a New York Times best-selling author and co-star of E! Network’s popular show "Fashion Police." She also released her own clothing line in 2012.
Rancic was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 36 and later underwent a double mastectomy. She launched "Fab-U-Wish" in in 2013, which grants celebrity, beauty and fashion-themed wishes to women battling breast cancer.
The event runs from 10:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Morris Inn at Notre Dame. Previous speakers at the annual brunch include astronaut and retired United States Navy Captain Mark Kelly, United States Olympic hockey gold medalist Jim Craig and Pulitzer Prize-winning author Doris Kearns Goodwin.
The Foundation of Saint Joseph Health System launched its original Mobile Medical Unit in 2006. Since then, the operation has provided more than 8,300 mammograms at 40 locations in Elkhart, Kosciusko, Marshall and St. Joseph counties. The organization supports the Saint Joseph Health System in efforts to invest in resources and technology.
