Illinois-based P.T.O. Services says it is laying off 57 workers in Gary. In a notice to the Indiana Department of Workforce Development, the driver leasing company says the move is the result of a canceled contract. P.T.O. says ArcelorMittal subsidiary Burnham Trucking, based in East Chicago, is cancelling its contract as of May 31.

The layoffs include 47 truck drivers and 10 clerical workers.
