Truck Accessories Group Acquires California Company

SNUGTOP manufactures pickup truck caps and tonneaus.

Elkhart-based Truck Accessories Group LLC has acquired California-based Custom Fibreglass Manufacturing Co., which owns the SNUGTOP brand. While financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, SNUGTOP will continue as a business unit within TAG.

SNUGTOP manufactures pickup truck caps and tonneaus and employs 200 workers. President and Chief Executive Officer Hartmut Schroeder will continue to lead the company under its new ownership.

"The purchase of our company by TAG provides SNUGTOP the opportunity to grow and improve our business for the benefit of both our customers and our employees," said Schroeder. "We are excited to join TAG and realize the benefits of being part of a larger organization."

TAG is a subsidiary of Texas-based J.B. Poindexter & Co. Inc. The company operates manufacturing plants in Indiana, Pennsylvania, Washington and California.
