ANGOLA, Ind. – An Illinois resident known for his successful leadership in marketing, enrollment and campus start-ups has been chosen to lead at Trine University's Peoria, Ariz., campus.

David L. Pearson, who has been in positions of enrollment leadership at other universities, is the new assistant vice president for Trine Peoria.

“We are pleased to have David guide our team in Peoria,” said Earl D. Brooks II, Ph.D., Trine president. “David is a proven leader who brings a wealth of experience in various facets of higher education and that experience will serve him well in his new role.”

Pearson has formerly been employed as the executive director of graduate and continuing studies at Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, Ill.; senior vice president for marketing and enrollment at Cairn University in Langhorne, Pa.; and assistant vice president for enrollment management at Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, Ind.

“David's experience in enrollment management and strategic marketing is key as Trine builds enrollment in Peoria,” said Stuart D. Jones, Ph.D., vice president for enrollment management. “We're excited to work with David in growing our student enrollment and academic programs in Peoria.”

Pearson started in his new role this week and is excited to take the helm in Arizona. “We know Trine is filling a need in the West Valley and I'm here to help ensure students have a smooth transition to Trine,” Pearson said. “Trine is known for its rigorous programs that produce work-ready graduates and that standard will be upheld in Peoria, too.”

Pearson brings a unique mix of experience from the corporate and collegiate worlds. Most recently, Pearson was senior vice president for DDI (Dimple Dough, Inc.); an Independence, Ohio, company billed as an industry leader in providing payment card customization solutions to clients in North America, Europe and Asia.

In addition, he has served as corporate education manager for SPIE – the International Society of Optical Engineers in Bellingham, Wash.; a business consultant for marketing and project management for graduate schools in Philadelphia, New York and Seattle; and senior vice president of the residential division of Land and Industrial Development Corp., Clinton, N.J.
